SA Friends and "Jetty Shots"

Having lived in Adelaide for 8 years in the 80's Rod had not seen many University friends for 10 or 15 years. With only limited days after ConFest and a few days following the houseboat holiday it was a whirlwind trip to catch up with as many mates as possible. The Folkers family feature very strongly amongst the people I hold very dear in this world. Ruth who lives in Japan with her husband Shigeru and son Kaishi fighting for his life (love you Ruth). Her twin brother David and wife Leanne and son Talon. My David and Leanne became old mates very quickly. Ruth and David's parents Harm and Tinky who live in a tiny town north of Adelaide called Port Germein are part of what I am most proud of Australia for - two wonderful Dutch folk who have made a difference and a home here (and what a home). Of course the rest of my friends in Adelaide feathure heavily from my Uni years and are a big part of who I am: Nicholas Glenn (with Diana and Stephen); Peter Athansos (with Meg and Michael and Deanna) and Leon Angione. Much to my disappointment I missed out on catching up with Colby.

We must also thank our hosts whilst in Adelaide: Neville from Maslin Beach (see houseboats pix), Steve from Prospect and Robert (and Simon) who is an LGHEI member, also in the houseboat pix.

To explain "Jetty Shots": this is a term Peter A uses to describe panoramic scenes of any description - he doesn't have a lot of time for them. Port Germein Jetty was the longest in the southern hemisphere and still quite inspiring.
