Houseboat on the Murray River

We all dream of a leisurely holiday cruising on the water. After an amazingly hectic previous twelve months in which Rod worked for the Sydney Gay Games for eight months and David and Rod bought the house we have lived in since 1996 we decided to treat ourselves to a houseboat holiday. The timing was perfect ANZAC Day was the Friday after Easter so a long break could be had without too many days off work. Easter was spent capming at ConFest and intervening days were spent with friends.

We ended up renting a three bedroom boat which was just fabulous. We invited several groups of friends and managed to share the experience with some of them for three of the six night we were aboard.

Wakeing each morning to a glass smooth river through to magnificent sunsets. The colours of the cliffs setting a magnificent backdrop to the Eucalypts was very insiring. Pelicans gracefully floating past and enjoying the serenity of the river (except for the odd water skiier) was exactly what we needed.
